Hi All!
This one is easy. Just tell us which paranormal is your all time favorite! Then tell us why...yeah, easy...right! LOL. There's so many out there to choose from, it's so tough. Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, J. R. Ward, Amanda Ashley, Angela Knight...the list goes on.
My favorite paranormal was the one that most took me by surprise. "Blood Creek Haunting" by Derek Musgrave. Be aware that it is not a traditional paranormal romance. I think I enjoyed it so much for that very reason. The author pulled me into the story from the first page, and I was overwhelmed. It's an incredibly emotional tale.
here's a short blurb:
Blood Creek Haunting is the story of a woman who's being haunted by the ghost of an Indian brave. Emily discovers that not only is her house being built on the sacred ground of the Blood Creek Massacre, but also one of her ancestors was responsible for the massacre. Can Emily find a way to repay the debt? Will she survive the haunting?
Now, your turn!

Hi Anne! Great idea. Thanks for the tip. I am looking forward to your recommendation. I guess if I have to choose one then I'll go with the one that started it (love of paranormal books) all for me: Bram Stoker's Dracula. That classic opened my eyes to the whole genre. I was insatiable for more after reading that book.
It's so hard to choose, but if I have to I would choose Sherrilyn Kenyons Unleash The Night, it was the first book I ever read by her and she inspired me to put my paranormal stories out there and try to get published as an author. I always loved writing but was always scared to show the world.
Sophia,
what a great choice! :-)
Savannah,
That was a good one. I think of Kenyon's books I'd choose, Night Play as a fave. :-)
Anne,
Thanks so much for the high praise. You've made my entire month.
So what is my favorite paranormal story? Picking just one from any of the sub-categories is hard enough, but to choose just one form them all is almost impossible. That said, I thought about it long and hard and the one that kept coming to mind was Anne Rice's Beauty Series. I know that's more than one book, but I'm sticking to my guns, it's all one story.
Great blog topic.
Derek Musgrave
You know, this question is almost impossible for me to answer, lol. I love them all. I love so many its hard to pick just one. If I have too, I'm going to say the Dark-Hunter series because they were the first darker paranormals I read and they hooked me.
D!
I've read the Beauty Series. I know exactly what you mean. Such a unique set of stories...very hot too!
Kelley,
It's such a tough choice, huh? Everyone is having a hard time choosing. LOL I have a personal favorite...for each author. LOL
Well I tell ya, I'm gonna have to go with J.R. Ward's Dark Lover.
I probably would have never picked up a paranormal book but you (Anne) kept after me and kept saying "seriously Jen, you need to read this book". So I read it and that got me started reading paranormal. I've read all of her Black Dagger Brotherhood books and now I'm reading the Dark Hunter series. Also Jacquelyn Franks Nightwalker series is pretty good. So see what you started? ; -)
Like the others said, it is difficult to choose. If I had to pick though I'd say Kim Harrison. Her books draw me in quickly and don't let go.
I also loved Blood Creek Haunting though! Derek spun a very provocative tale with that one.

Jen,
LOL...I'm forever causing trouble, it's part of my charm. :-D
Des,
I've never read Kim Harrison...don't shoot me! I'm gonna look her up now. :-)
I agree that it is very hard to choose just one! I'm going to have to pick the paranormal that hooked me......Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series!!
Great topic! I gotta say my favorite is definitely Sherilynn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. But now, I'm tickled pink, so I'm going to look up Derek Musgrave's book!! :-p
Des,
Thanks for the kind words about Blood Creek. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
Karyna,
I hope you are disappointed in all the hype for Blood Creek Haunting.
Derek
Actually, Karyna. That should have read are NOT disappointed...
It's hard to choose a favorite "any book" for me... Sherrilyn writes great paranormals and my cp introduced me to Susan Seizmore who I really like... Oh what a hard question!!
