Romancing the Holidays

Time is approaching again for the Central Florida Romance Writer's annual Romancing the Holidays benefit signing. I know, I know - the holidays are a long way off, but donations of books and promo materials for the 100 goody bags and many raffle baskets we make are starting to pile up in my dining room. But it's all for a good cause. Barnes & Noble donates a portion of the proceeds to the Adult Literacy League and virtually every penny raised from raffle tickets goes directly to the charity. So far, we have more than 20 authors scheduled to participate in the event to be held on Saturday, November 7 from 2-5 pm at the Altamonte Mall near Orlando. If you are interested in donating books and promotional items, please email me through my website. Special thanks to those authors who have generously donated books to the cause and particularly those who sent me substantial numbers of books so far - Brenda Novak, Karen Kelley, and Susan Meier.
If you love to read, the signing is a must. The first 100 customers get a free goody bag packed with books, pens, bookmarks and all sorts of promotional goodies! And at only a $1 a ticket, you get a chance to win a themed raffle basket. There are many to choose from.
Stay tuned for more information as the date nears.

My Trip to the Naughties Shop

All in the name of research. That's what DH said when he dragged me to our local purveyor of perversions. You see, I've recently started writing some super hot short stories and novellas. My darling, sweet hubby was kind and giving enough to sacrifice his precious time to enlighten me about what sort of costumes, devices, furniture (!) and literature were out there. And guess what? Aside from making an interesting evening's entertainment, I actually got some ideas for my Work In Progress. And you know what? I even learned a thing or two. I had no idea what some of the items were to be used for. We read packages, tried things on (don't ask, because I'll never tell), and even bought a couple of items (purely for the research).
But here's what I learned: There's only so much you can find out online. Sometimes research is best done by going and doing. Obviously, that's not always possible. But I'll tell you one thing -- it can be a whole lot of fun!

Starting Over by Jenna Allen

Starting Over by Jenna Allen

Jess and Scott haven’t had a conversation that didn’t end in a fight in months. Making up is fun, but the clock is ticking on their marriage. Is a cross-country move the cause of their problems, or the solution?

excerpt ::

The hum of the engines echoed in my ear. I never could sleep for long on planes. Maybe if I kept my eyes closed they wouldn’t be too puffy. I snuggled deeper into the pillow, only then noticing where my body had turned.

I peeked up at Scott’s sleeping face, his dark lashes fanning against his cheek. We hadn’t slept this close since before I found out he sold the apartment. Up until then I hadn’t been happy about the thought of moving, but I’d open to the possibility. Then the phone call came and the rug had literally been pulled out from under me. We were going, and to drive the point home, he’d sold ours.

It had been an amazing offer, and if we’d already agreed to the move, I would have been happy about it. As the days passed and moving became imminent it seemed silly to still be angry. I knew everything I held inside I wouldn’t be able to get over, so I let it out.

It was a New York problem. If Portland was to be a fresh start, I needed to leave it there, with the stack of delivery menus and perfect bagels.

I snuggled deeper into Scott, my head on his shoulder, lifting one of my legs across his. And then I realized just where my hand was. On the fly of his slacks. If there hadn’t been a blanket covering us, I might have been mortified. Instead, I was simply embarrassed and moved my hand back to my own leg.

“Now don’t do that,” Scott whispered against my hair, his warm fingers wrapping around my wrist and pulling my hand back to him. “I need to be reminded there are parts of me you like.”

Thoroughly Compromised!

Compromising Positions releases today!

Falling in love is the last thing on his busy agenda…but compromising positions can lead just about anywhere.

David Strong knows how to do a lot of things—run an international fitness company, finesse stock portfolios and stay out of emotional entanglements. That is, until he gets tangled up with Sophie Delfino and her Sensational Sex workout. He’s supposed to help her demonstrate Kama Sutra positions for her couples’ yoga class. The rigorous postures require more than just physical control. And his co-instructor unexpectedly tests his control to the limit.

Sophie’s been fantasizing about David since her teens, but she never dreamed she’d actually be expected to run through her intimate desires—with an audience! The class is very professional, tame even—or it would be, if she’d been in any of the positions before. But she hasn’t—except in her wildest fantasies about David. Sophie knows she wants David in every way, and she’s flexible enough to use whatever she has to get him.

David can’t afford any unexpected distractions. Besides the sensual positions he has to endure without embarrassing himself in public, there’s an embezzler stealing from his company. And then there’s Sophie—who is well on her way to stealing his well-guarded heart.

Warning: This is one exercise program you won’t need to consult your doctor before beginning…unless he’s hot and available for house calls. The Kama Sutra isn’t for the prudish or faint of heart, and neither is this story.
